Pepsi Holmquist, Ph.D.

Rochester Institute of Technology - National Technical Institute for the Deaf

Pepsi Holmquist, Ph.D., was born Deaf and grew up in a Deaf family. She graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with her B.S. in biochemistry before pursuing her graduate degree at The Ohio State University where she was co-advised by Mark Foster, Ph.D., and Vicki Wysocki, Ph.D. Holmquist earned her Ph.D. in biochemistry utilizing biophysical techniques, such as native mass spectrometry, to elucidate the origins of the mechanisms behind homo-oligomeric gene regulatory proteins.

She then returned to her alma mater, Rochester Institute of Technology-National Technical Institute for the Deaf, as an assistant professor. Currently, she is teaching and training students in lab instrumental analysis with emphasized focus on the deaf and hard-of-hearing (HOH) students.
